Ask Seek Knock
Making a stepping stone from a stumbling block is where one separates the wheat from the chaff. As for myself I wouldn't change a thing about my failures as it is these experiences that test our perseverance and give us the best knowledge through trials. Just as fear of what is unknown usually keeps those at bay that choose not to test the waters, one must remember it is those who push the boundaries and ideas that gives us progress. A belief in a dream can take an ordinary man to amazing new heights and an ambition that tears down the notion that "the sky is the limit" gives us a new perspective of our world. My philosophy is to aim about 3 times higher than what can be possibly achieved so if you only make it half way it will be higher than a standard would have allowed you. You will be surprised at what happens when you start taking action towards your goals. However be careful to not mistake those stepping stones for stumbling blocks. Ask Seek Knock

Steve Jobs remembered
The passing of Steve Jobs is a true loss to those who have broken down barriers that stood in the way of success, built bridges from ideas across to manifestation, ignored the people who said, "you can't" and became what was supposed to be impossible, for those who found their limit and said " I can still reach further". To become a person of influence is one of the greatest achievements a person can attain. One of my favorite things about Steve Jobs was his ability to innovate and be completely different, a revolutionary. I admire Steve's attitude toward abandoning the status quo, the standard idea or the mundane beliefs of how this world works... He is a real entrepreneur in my eyes; someone who can take nothing and bring something of value to the market.
"I'm convinced that about half of what separates the successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance." -Steve Jobs, Interview, 1995
"Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do." - Steve Jobs

Excellence Creates Capacity
From the beginning of my venture with Contact Window Cleaning the initial reason for this business was to pay my way through college and give me the time I needed by scheduling my work hours. Little did I know that I was already in a position of advantage within the window cleaning industry. I then realized I was already in the "battle field" with my own business and I was getting my education from direct experience. I started researching the business' I frequented then grew to researching brands and the different business models as Coca Cola, FedEx, and Dell to name a few and learn how they managed their supply/service chain at a large capacity. I also began a deep desire to learn about the founders of these companies and their approach to their business and growing their value in the market. A trend that I noticed is that each of these companies grew by revolutionizing the way their service is performed or delivered. These companies have grown from being built from the ground up and creating the best next move. FedEx and its promise of overnight delivery shipped only 7 packages on their first night so they didn't hit that home run their first bat up but believed in their revolutionary idea that eventually prevailed and ultimately changed the transportation and logistic industry to implement hub-and-spoke model for efficiency. If one's desire is to be the most valued business in any particular industry it relies on the ability to repeat and deliver the best results that are more efficient than from what is already available and the capacity to grow through an innovative business model.

Is your Attitude a lemon?
From the beginning of the first contact with a customer to the delivery of the service and even after we leave the attitude I have about my company is a highly positive attitude. My attitude determines whether I will be hired rather than my competitor. I recall cleaning windows in a home and while I had a 6' latter in my hand I crossed a dirty mirror and I took literally 3 min. to clean this dirty mirror and said nothing to the customer about it. As she walked me out the door she said, " I was going to ask you to clean that mirror however you did it without my asking, In my business that is called delighting the customer and is the only way my company has reached the success it has." She gave thanks than handed me a $100 tip for whether it was the mirror I cleaned or simply because she felt very appreciative and wanted to show her appreciation. Charles Swindle gave a speech on attitude and said life is 10% what happens and 90% of how you react to any given situated. I find this to be absolute Truth. So to leave this thought on "attitude" I think of this old adage, "when life gives you lemons... and tells you to make lemonade, I have always felt plant the seeds of each and every lemon for and your harvests will have so much bounty that you will have to teach others how to make lemonade and this process will grow exponentially. When life gives you lemons teach others how to make lemonade.

We create our future
The actions we make today determine what will happen tomorrow just as the words we speak define the actions we make, choose them wisely. Today we are living in a time which moves faster and involves more people than ever before in its construction creating new frontiers. Increase your productivity by cultivating creativity. I once pondered the idea of "what makes a man GREAT?" I deduced it is ones ability to achieve their full potential, witch is as far as I'm concerned very uncommon.

...it is part of Google
Lets face it blogging and videos are considered old after a few months if not sooner. So Google is creating higher relevance in their page rank algorithm to index these social feeds with a higher priority. What does this have to do with the price of tea in china? Well if your importing commodities such as tea, coffee or anything else for that matter... current information is always most valuable. This means the persons or organizations which adapt to blogging, making videos and more importantly giving relevant information will be where business is engaged. The organizations who adapt to these mediums will prevail in the new world of business.
